Injury Prevention

The mouth is the most frequently injured area of the body among children and young adults playing contact sports.  Protective mouth guards can help.  Helmets should be approved by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).

Types of Mouth Guards Available:
  • Custom made by a dentist is what is recommended.

  • Boilable mouth guards purchased at sporting good stores.

  • Stock or ready made mouth guards.
These can be irritating to mouth tissues because they are not custom made to fit your teeth.
