Home Visiting

Whether you have questions about your infant or four-year-old, a public health nurse and parent support worker can help out. We can meet with you in your home and offer information and support. During challenging times we can help you make the best of the situation.

A public health nurse can:

  • answer questions about your family’s health.

  • assess your child’s growth and nutrition.

  • discuss healthy foods and meal planning.

  • assess your child’s development.

  • talk about your child’s behaviour and discipline.

  • discuss safety and child-proofing.

  • connect you with other community services you may need and link you to a parent support worker.

 A parent support worker can:

  • talk about budgeting and making money last.

  • give you recipe ideas.

  • help as you set up routines and organize your house.

  • give you ideas for how to play with your child.

  • help you meet other parents.

  • help childproof your home.
