The arrival of a new baby, whether it’s a first child or a third, is a happy and exciting time.  It is a major occasion and an important date in the family history.

 

Being a parent can be one of the most rewarding experiences of a lifetime.  Many parents prepare themselves for their new parenting role.  However, they discover that parenthood is quite different from the experience they expected.

 

Many parents find the transition and adjustment to parenthood to be challenging new role.  The Grey Bruce Health Unit offers various ways for new parents to get the information and support they need.

 

 

Parenting Resources: 

 

Healthy Baby Centres offer a place for parents to drop in and receive support, information and education on caring for their newborn. 

 

● Speak with a registered nurse

● Have your baby weighed

● Share your experiences with other new moms and dads. 

● Common topics include feeding your baby, crying and comforting, growing and learning, post partum healing and immunization..
