                    AMOUNT.1,5,6,12,13 Any alcohol you drink has twice the effect on your 

                    baby’s system as it does on yours.14  Drinking alcohol during pregnancy may 

                    increase the risk of miscarriage, premature birth, low birth weight babies, 

                    and still birth. 1,2,4-6,11  Babies born with alcohol related birth defects, such as 

                    Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) and Fetal Alcohol Effects (FAE), will live 

                    with these for life!  A simple rule of thumb…no alcohol = no risk!

 

 

3. TRUE   Both you and your baby will benefit from quitting. Try to cut down and quit

                   if you can.  Seek support and talk to your health care provider.  Remember 

                   less is better …none is best!

 

 

4.  FALSE  Alcohol and other drug use could potentially have an effect on the quality 

                    and  quantity of  the sperm.14,15  Research is currently being done on this

                    topic.  Support each other; lifestyle changes can take time.
