9^th Annual Adolescent Workshop

Nurturing the Adolescent Body, Mind & Soul

The focus of the 9^th annual adolescent workshop, organized by the Grey Bruce health unit will be “Nurturing the Adolescent Body, Mind & Soul”. Keynote speaker, Dr.Miriam Kaufman, Hospital for Sick Children, will address the impact of development issues on adolescent thinking, feelings and behaviours. The afternoon presenter, Daune Dhal, will highlight the Asset Approach. A framework which focuses on building “developmental assets” which can positively impact young people’s lives both by promoting positive behaviours and by protecting youth from risk behaviours.The full day workshop which is designed for educators, community service agencies and people who work with youth, is scheduled for November 18, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm at the Chesley Community Centre. The cost is $50 (includes lunch), registration deadline November 4, 2005.
