Media Advisory/Photo OpJune 1, 2006 RESCHEDULED Owen Sound Bike/Walk to Work Challenge Kick- Off
The fourth annual Owen Sound Bike/Walk to Work Challenge runs May 23 to June 30, 2006. This popular event encourages Owen Sound employees to walk or bike to work over a six-week period to incorporate physical activity into their workday. Participants are eligible for prizes including a $1,000 bike courtesy of Jolley’s Alternative Wheels.
A re-scheduled kick-off event for the Bike/Walk to Work Challenge takes place in conjunction with the 14th annual Owen Sound Sneaker Day-Poker Walk, Friday June 9, 2006, during the lunch hour in downtown Owen Sound.
When: Friday June 9, 2006 at 11:30 a.m.
Where: Owen Sound City Hall, 808 2nd Ave. East.
Who: Bill Murdoch, MPP, Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, Mayor Ruth Lovell, City of Owen Sound, and Dr. Hazel Lynn, Grey Bruce Medical Officer of Health.
