Lion’s Head Harbour, North Bruce Peninsula, Posted Unsafe for Bathing
A diesel fuel spill at the Lion’s Head Harbour, (North Bruce Peninsula) on September 15, 2006 has resulted in Grey Bruce Health Unit posting the beach unsafe for bathing. The Ministry of Environment and Coast Guard have been advised and the area has been cordoned off to the public. The municipal water intake is being monitored but no health risk is anticipated. This area will remain posted until samples indicate that water is safe for bathing.
The Medical Officer of Health advises bathers that diesel fuel in this water may pose a risk to their health. Advisory signs have been posted.
