Kraemer Acknowledged for Completion of Virtual Bruce Trail Hike
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Hazel Lynn presented a certificate and gift today to Kincardine mayor Larry Kraemer to acknowledge his achievement in the Stepping Out on the Bruce Trail Challenge. Mr. Kraemer was a member of a team including Dr. Lynn, Southgate mayor Don Lewis and Bruce Grey Owen Sound M.P. Larry Miller. Together the members completed the virtual hike of the Bruce Trail from Queenston to Tobermory by recording daily steps on a pedometer. The daily step count was transferred to equivalent distance on the trail. Mr. Kraemer contributed 135 kilometers toward the team total of 840 kilometers. Stepping Out on the Bruce Trail challenges Grey Bruce residents to become more physically active by encouraging walking as a means to improve their heath. -30-
