Board of Health Ratifies OPSEU Agreement

Owen Sound – The Board of Health of the Grey Bruce Health Unit today ratified a tentative contract agreement reached earlier this week with the Ontario Public Service Employees Union, Local 276. The Board is gratified agreement was reached without disruption to Public Health services to the residents of Grey Bruce.

The three-year contract will expire December 31, 2009. The contract provides internal equity and market value to public health inspectors and dental hygienists, plus three per cent wage increases in each year as well as improvements in benefits. The Board is pleased wage adjustments maintain public health inspector salaries within the middle of the provincial range.

The contract covers approximately 47 staff including public health inspectors, parent support workers, dental hygienists, dental educations, environment inspectors, tobacco programs staff, social marketers and others.
