Lonely Island Beach, Town of South Bruce Peninsula, Posted Unsafe for Bathing
Beach water sampling at Lonely Island Beach (Oliphant) shows two consecutive samples exceeding Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards for acceptable bacterial levels. As a result, this area will be posted and remain posted, until two consecutive samples indicate that water is safe for bathing.
The Medical Officer of Health advises bathers that high levels of bacteria in this water may pose a risk to their health. Advisory signs have been posted.
