Dr. Ray Copes, Director of Environmental and Occupational Health


Dr. Ray Copes joined Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion as the Director of Environment and Occupational Health in July 2009. Prior to joining the Agency, Dr. Copes was Director of Environmental Health Services at the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control and a Clinical Professor in the School of Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia (UBC).

Dr. Copes is the founding Director of the National Collaborating Centre for Environmental Health, funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada. He maintains his position as a Faculty Associate in the School of Environmental Health at UBC and as a Faculty Mentor in the UBC Bridge Program. Dr. Copes completed his medical training at McGill University in Quebec, has specialty training in occupational medicine and conducts research in the areas of exposure and risk assessment methods.
