Kelso and Bayshore Beaches Safe for Bathing; Black Creek Beach Posted Unsafe

Water samples taken at Kelso and Bayshore Beaches, City of Owen Sound, show results within acceptable levels according to Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards. The Grey Bruce Health Unit took samples on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. Based on these results, the beaches, which were posted as unsafe on July 13, 2010, are now deemed safe for bathing.

Beach water sampling from August 3, 2010 at Black Creek Beach (also known as Old Woman River), Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula, shows levels exceeding Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards for acceptable bacterial levels. As a result, this area will be posted and remain posted until samples indicate that water is safe for bathing.
