News Release For Immediate Release September 1, 2011
Bayshore and Kelso Beach Posted Unsafe for Bathing
Due to the heavy rains today, a sewage by-pass occurred from the Owen Sound waste water system.
As a result both Kelso and Bayshore Beaches have been posted unsafe for bathing. Environmental samples will be taken early next week. The posting will be lifted once samples show that results are within acceptable levels.
Kelso Beach is not part of the routine sample regime. However, due to historic evidence, it has been posted as well as the Bayshore Beach.
Beach information on our website is updated as conditions change. For more information, please call Public Health at 519-376-9420 or 1-800-263-3456 or visit www.publichealthgreybruce.on.ca.
