Bike/Walk to Work Challenge Celebrates 3rd Year

WHERE: Behind City Hall at the Market Building
WHEN: 5 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2005
WHY: Participants are invited to attend a celebration to kick off the 3rd annual Bike Walk to Work Challenge.
For the next 6 weeks, May 16 - June 24, participants will walk or bike to work or school, at least one way. They are then required to complete a ballot form to be eligible for a variety of prizes. Ballots can be deposited at Jolley’s Alternative Wheels, Public Health, City Hall or your workplace. Businesses, schools and individuals who want to participate are asked to register by calling Public Health at 376-9420 ext. 401.
This challenge benefits the commuter, the community and the environment because it · provides a less stressful, more physically active commute to work, · is a more environmentally friendly, · reduces the cost of commuting, and · encourages enviro-tourism and downtown revitalization.
