Eat Smart! Restaurants Continue to Expand Locally

Eight new restaurants have qualified for the Eat Smart! Award of Excellence, which brings the total number of qualifying restaurants to 26 in Grey and Bruce Counties. 

To receive the Eat Smart!Award, each restaurant is reviewed by TenaVan’t Foort, the Grey Bruce Health Unit nutritionist, to ensure that the restaurant offers healthy food choices.  Each qualifying restaurant must also employ at least one person who is certified in safe food handling. It  is  also assessed by a public health inspector to ensure that the restaurant has a good food safety record.
