Car Seat Safety Check and Roundup of Unsafe Child Products Saturday, May 24th 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Canadian Tire, Owen Sound Store This fun, family event includes:
In Canada, about 70 children under the age of 5 die in motor vehicle collisions each year and another 4, 000 are injured. It isn't enough to have a car seat or booster; it must be used on every trip and it must be used correctly. A correctly installed child restraint can reduce the likelihood of a child being injured or killed in a crash by 75%. Over 90% of infant and child car seats are not installed or used properly. Is yours? Product safety is important too! Almost 35% to 40% of all home injuries involve a product or the environment. Each year in Canada, more than 5000 children under age 5 are injured because of nursery products. Come and learn how to make your child’s world a little safer! The Public Health Unit, Canadian Tire, and the Owen Sound Police Services sponsor this event.
