Christmas Comes Early to Living Hope

It may not be Christmas yet but the Living Hope Centre in Maple Square Mall, Saugeen Shores, received a gift - a gift that will keep on giving throughout the year.

Grey Bruce Partners in Health generously provided financial assistance to acquire a new kitchen range.  The range was purchased from Square Deal Neil’s in Saugeen Shores at a price that made this gift possible.

The range will be used in the kitchen facilities of the Living Hope Centre.   Living Hope provides a weekly Monday night spaghetti dinner to over 100 people for the price of a donation.  As well, they have opened up their kitchen facilities for use by other non-profit organizations. 

One such organization is the Saugeen Shores Community Kitchen, which meets every second Friday of the month from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Here the range will be much appreciated by the participants as they learn basic cooking in a social atmosphere, and then get to take their leftovers home.  This service is made possible by the partnering of the Bruce Shoreline Community Mental Health Team, the M’Wikwedong Native Cultural Resource Centre, the Public Health Unit and Grey Bruce Partners in Health. 

The new stove will be a great asset to the safe and efficient preparation of fresh fruits and vegetables provided through The Good Food Box program.  The Good Food Box program, which distributes on the second Thursday of each month, is another of the worthwhile programs operating out of the Living Hope Centre.
