Boil Water Advisory Lifted for the Town of Kincardine
Kincardine - Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Hazel Lynn, has lifted the Boil Water Advisory for the Town of Kincardine including those users on the Kincardine Water System in the Municipality of Kincardine, Huronville subdivision, Inverhuron and Inverhuron Provincial Park. The Boil Water Advisory was lifted as of 1:45 p.m. Sunday February 12, 2006. The test result of two consecutive audit samples taken by Public Health show the water is safe for drinking.
“Kincardine residents should be thanked for their understanding and cooperation during the past ten days since the Boil Water Advisory was issued. This Boil Water Advisory was additionally complicated by the power outages. As of today, the Kincardine water is safe to drink from your tap - without boiling,” says Lou D’Alessandro, Manager Health Protection at the Grey Bruce Health Unit.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit, the Ministry of the Environment will continue to work closely with the Municipality to resolve issues that led to the Boil Water Advisory.
Residents of Kincardine should take the following precautions: · Run cold-water faucets for 1 minute before using the water · Run drinking fountains for 1 minute before using the water · Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle
Public Health thanks the Municipality of Kincardine and the Ministry of the Environment for their efforts to ensure delivery of safe water to the residents of Kincardine.
