Contract Agreement with Ontario Nurses Association - Local 004

The Board of Health for the Grey Bruce Health Unit is pleased to announce ratification of the tentative agreement reached in recent contract negotiations with Ontario Nurses Association - Local 004, representing Public Health Nurses.

The three-year contact, retroactive to January 1, 2008, provides for three per cent increases in each year as well as adjustments collapsing a ten-step grid to six. Effective upon ratification, the agreement increases wages at the top end of the salary scale to $37.38 an hour from the current $35.32 in the previous contract. This will climb to $39.66 an hour in the final year of the agreement.

The contract also makes provision for a wide-ranging benefit package, provided by the employer, corresponding to a wage equivalent of 26.5 per cent.
