Cheers! Alcohol and After Effects
Low risk drinking is defined as consuming two or less drinks of alcohol per day with at least one alcohol free day per week. On a given occasion where alcohol is consumed, men should not drink more than three drinks and women no more than two drinks to remain at low risk for developing alcohol related problems. One way to reduce your risks is to drink Mocktails as an alternative to alcoholic drinks. Municipalities, schools and other groups which have alcohol related events often have Alcohol Risk Management Policies.
Server Training is often a component of these policies. Smart Serve is a short program available to any group or business which serves alcohol.
Some areas of concern include underage drinking and other
drug use.
Youth who drink under the legal drinking age have a greater risk of getting into
problems with the law. Talking to your kids about drugs can be a challenging
idea. Check out Help for Parents. It is not just youth who can run into problems
from using over-the-counter drugs; adults can too. It is important to know
that every drug has side effects. If you take other drugs you should know how
over-the-counter drugs affect the medicine your are already taking. Alcohol is a
drug and may increase or decrease the effectiveness of other medication. |
