The Community Coalition for Prevention of Falls in Older Adults
The Community Coalition for the Prevention of Falls in Older Adults was formed in December of 1994.
Statement of Purpose/Goal of the Coalition
The goal of the CCPFOA is to prevent the suffering and loss of independence that occurs with injuries related to falls in older adults. CCPFOA is a non-profit organization which does not have a charitable registration status. We are fortunate to have a community partner who has allowed us to accept donations for which they will give receipts.
Mission Statement
By working in partnership with the residents of Grey and Bruce counties, to raise Grey/Bruce older adults’ awareness about their potential risk of falls and to encourage community participation in activities that reduce these risks through education, skill building, environmental and policy changes.
Potential Team Members
Membership in the CCPFOA is open to any interested individual or agency in Grey or Bruce County. Volunteers and community members are always welcome to join us by calling 1-800-263-3456 or 519-376-9420. Seniors are especially needed to ensure that projects are consistent with the needs of seniors in the community.
We also have a “Friends of Falls Prevention” category as part of the Community Coalition for the Prevention of Falls in Older Adults. The “Friends of Falls Prevention” are not required to attend all planning meetings but have more of a promotion or consultant and individual project volunteer role.
