The Cost of Eating Well
Each spring, Public Health Units across Ontario conduct the Nutritious Food Basket Survey as mandated by the province. Public Health staff cost out 66 designated food items from at least 6 grocery stores in their geographic region. The figures gathered through this exercise form the basis of the Cost of Eating Well, an estimate of the cost to feed a family of four in that geographic region.
