Healthy Weights

Public Health is committed to supporting Ontario’s Action Plan for Healthy Eating and Active Living. Helping the people of Grey Bruce achieve and maintain a healthy body weight through regular activity and healthy food choices will decrease the rates of obesity and heart disease that remain higher for this area than the provincial average.

Use Canada’s Physical Activity Guide

  • Everyone knows staying active is important. Ever wonder if you are being active enough? Check out www.paguide.com for activity recommendations for all ages.

Are You at a Healthy Weight?

  • There are some measures for adults that can estimate whether your weight or waist circumference is putting you at risk for health problems.

Check your Body Mass Index and Waist Circumference on the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s website.

Play in Bruce Grey

  • Many communities across Grey and Bruce are participating in Public Health’s Play initiative.  Through this project, children and adults can reconnect and learn how to play together again.  Look for the red Play balloons in your community or visit their website at www.playbrucegrey.com
