Teaching Sexual HealthIntroduction
The Ministry of Education requires that Ontario students be provided with growth and development education focusing on an understanding of sexuality; including sexual development, reproductive health, interpersonal relationships, affection, abstinence, body image, gender roles, and the development of attitudes, beliefs, and values related to identity and relationships. This curriculum expectation is found in the Health and Physical Education Curriculum for grades 1 through 10 (see links below).

An objective of the Grey Bruce Health Unit's youth initiative program is to support educators in the implementation of the sexual health components of the curriculum by providing resources to assist and enhance their teaching plans.
