Travelling Somewhere?When planning to travel, you need more than just your passport and suitcase. Protect your health before you leave by using our Travel Information Service and Immunization Clinics.
Travel Information ServiceYour individualized travel information package includes recommendations for routine and travel vaccination, prevention of malaria and other diseases, food and water precautions, and much more. This service is available FREE to residents of Grey and Bruce Counties. Be sure to request your information package 6-8 weeks before departure to allow yourself time to book any vaccination appointments you might need. You may access this service from the Public Health Unit by completing a Request for Travel Information form (online version or print version).

Immunization ClinicsWhen you receive your package, review it with a Public Health Nurse or your Health Care Professional. You can receive your immunizations from your Health Care Provider, or at one of the Grey Bruce Health Unit’s immunization clinics. Take your travel package with you to your appointment. The Vaccine Preventable Diseases Program at the Grey Bruce Health Unit offers some travel vaccinations at our immunization clinics (available at a minimal cost), as well as all publicly funded vaccines (available at no cost). *Please note that the following products are not available at the Grey Bruce Health Unit vaccination clinics:
1. Yellow Fever vaccine (must book an appointment at a WHO-approved travel clinic) 2. Japanese Encephalitis vaccine*, 3. Traveller’s Diarrhea vaccine*, 4. Anti-Malarial medications*,
*The above numbered 2-4 are available either through a travel clinic or an appointment with your health care provider.
