The Beat Goes On… Looking for Local Winners
Grey Bruce Heart Health is accepting nominations for the 10th Annual Beat Goes On Awards. These awards recognize individuals, community groups, work sites, and schools in Grey and Bruce Counties that have taken their health and the health of others to heart.
Individual and Community Group Categories The person(s) must have done at least one of the following: · become physically active · have adopted healthy eating habits or · have chosen to live smoke free AND · have influenced others to make changes in their lifestyles.
School Category The school must support healthy lifestyles for its students by providing ongoing regular physical activity as well as information on good nutrition and the benefits of being smoke free. These opportunities should be available to the entire school population.
Work Site Category We are looking for a work site whose company policies provide opportunities and support for healthy lifestyles for the entire workforce (for example, a walking program, or healthy food choices).
Nominations can be completed over the Heart Health web site www.bmts.com/~Partnersinhealth or by calling the Heart Health Coordinator at 1-800-230-7719 ext. 34 or 797-2010 ext. 34.
The deadline for nominations is February 12th, 2004.
Winners will be selected and announced during February as part of our celebration of Heart Health Month.
