Grey Bruce Health Unit Web-Video Number Two Worldwide

A Google internet search using key words “hand washing video” puts the Grey Bruce Health Unit’s Hand Washing - Hand Sanitizing web site as number two of more than 21 million sites worldwide. The four-minute video produced by Richard Thomas Communications of Owen Sound demonstrates proper procedure for hand washing with soap and water and using alcohol based hand sanitizer products. The health unit has received inquiries from across eastern Canada and the United States regarding use of the video. Also available on DVD, with a French translation soon to be offered, the video has been distributed to a variety of health related organizations as well as school boards and correctional facilities.

The success of the message is particularly appropriate during National Infection Control Week, October 16-20. Hand washing is one of the best ways to prevent infection.
