Beach water sampling at Durham Conservation Area – McGowan (East Dam) in the Municipality of West Grey shows water
samples exceeding Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards for acceptable bacterial levels. As a result, this area will be posted as unfit for bathing. This posting will remain until two consecutive sets of samples indicate that water is safe for bathing.

The Medical Officer of Health advises bathers that high levels of bacteria in this water may pose a risk to their health. Advisory signs have been posted.
