Lurgan Beach and Bruce Beach (Concession 6), Huron Kinloss, Posted Unsafe for Bathing

As part of routine sampling, Public Health staff observed algae-like substance near the shores of Lurgan Beach and Bruce Beach (Concession 6) in Huron Kinloss. As a result, the near shore water is cloudy, murky and has a foul odour. Local residences have also notified Public Health of this situation.

These areas will be posted immediately for unsafe bathing. The area will remain posted until further site visits and sampling deem these beaches safe for bathing within the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care protocol.

The Ministry of Environment has also been notified.
