News Release For Immediate Release July 9, 2010
Owen Sound Outbreak Investigation
The Grey Bruce Health Unit is currently involved in the investigation of a large cluster of illness among those attending a wedding dinner at Stone Tree Golf and Fitness Centre, as well as other events held at the same venue.
Symptoms reported are gastrointestinal and generally have a short duration and are self-limiting.
Although a cause has yet to be identified, these types of illness are often highly contagious. Those exhibiting symptoms are being asked to stay at home when ill, avoid workplace and social gatherings until symptom-free for 48 hours and wash hands frequently.
Public Health is working with Stone Tree staff to identify the source of this outbreak and implement remedial measures.
