News Release For Immediate Release April 16, 2004
Find Out if Your Child is Buckled In Properly
You can make sure your little ones are buckled in correctly at the free car seat safety check on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at the Markdale Fire Department at 200 Isla Street. The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
It isn’t enough to have a car seat or booster, it must be used on every trip and it must be used correctly. Each child seat on the market has its own method of installation. Installation mistakes are often made because more information is needed. Car seat clinics in Grey and Bruce have shown that over 80% of car seats are not installed or used properly. Is yours?
Free consultation and/or installation of tether bolts will be provided. Bring your tether bolt, straps and vehicle manual. There will also be a draw for a high back booster seat and treat bags will be available for the kids.
Grey Bruce Health Unit, O.P.P., Markdale Fire Department, Bernard’s Cars & Services and Bruce Power are sponsors of the event. -30-
