New Hand Washing / Hand Sanitizing Video A new video from the Grey Bruce Health Unit teaches proper hand washing and hand sanitizing technique. This is the first time a teaching video demonstrates the use of hand sanitizer products, commonly seen at entrances to hospitals and long-term care facilities. Richard Thomas Communications of Owen Sound produced the Hand Washing / Hand Sanitizing DVD.
The four-minute video explains why hand washing is important to prevent the spread of disease. It demonstrates hand washing with soap and water as well as the correct method for using alcohol-based hand sanitizer products. The video details when it is necessary to wash.
The Hand Washing / Hand Sanitizing video will be distributed to other health units, used by Public Health staff in workshops and teaching sessions and is available to the public through the Grey Bruce Health Unit website at http://www.publichealthgreybruce.on.ca/Communicable/Handwashing/.
