Grey Bruce Health Unit Groundbreaking
OWEN SOUND – Official groundbreaking ceremonies today marked the start of construction of a new headquarters building for the Grey Bruce Health Unit. The site is located at 101 17th Street East, on reclaimed industrial land on the city’s east harbour. Foundation work is already underway by the Quantum Environmental Group of Mississauga. Lett Architects of Peterborough and Salter Pilon Architects of Barrie combined to provide architectural and design services for the project. Tender for construction of the 4,646 square-metre (60,000 sq.ft.) building will be announced this fall. Nineteen contractors applied for pre-qualification on the job.
