Red Cross and Public Health providing personal preparedness workshops for Emergency Preparedness Week 2007
(OWEN SOUND, MAY 3) - Is your family prepared to survive for at least the first 72 hours of a disaster? Emergency Preparedness Week begins May 6 and the Canadian Red Cross and Public Health are working together to help residents of Grey and Bruce get ready for all types of potential disasters.
It is important that families take a number of steps to be prepared, such as creating an emergency family plan, preparing emergency kits, and becoming informed about general home safety during an emergency. Several evening workshops are currently scheduled through the Bluewater District School Board’s evening classes. Dates include:
Additional workshops will be scheduled in the fall, but interested community groups, organizations and employers may contact either the Red Cross or Public Health about hosting a workshop for their members or employees.
