Stepping Out on the Bruce Trail Grand Prize Winners

Grand prizes for the Stepping Out on the Bruce Trail challenge were awarded at Walter’s Falls on Saturday, May 26.

1^st Prize– The Sanitary Engineers:  Lauren Kent, Bill Weiler, Lou Talbot and Margaret Wooten, Hanover and District Hospital, Hanover

Echo Adventure Tours: A three hour guided tour of the Suspension Bridge, Treetop Walk- Zip Line and Cave Tour

2^nd Prize– The Southport Hikers:  Lorraine Boucher, Gerry Boucher, Kevin Champion, and Christine Champion, Community Team, Southampton

Weekend on the Bruce Peninsula at Taylor-Made B&B

3^rd Prize– The Web-Footed Walkers: Paul Dost, Dan Mayer, Nigel Newsham, Jeff Shaw, Bruce Power, Tiverton

Reference Guide for the Bruce Trail, Gift Certificates from Thorncrest and Suntrail Outfitters and Looping Through Sydenham book with Walking Stick

4^th Prize– The Smokin’ Joes: Lori Sweiger, Gail Christie, Renee Pageau, Lynne Steingart, Town of Saugeen Shores, Saugeen Shores

Guided Hike with a Bruce Trail Member from Sydenham Club

Close to 600 workplace and community teams used Stepping Out on the Bruce Trail software to track their pedometer steps. Participants were taken on a virtual tour of the Bruce Trail from Niagara to Tobermory. The software and pedometers can still be borrowed at all local libraries.
