The Beat Goes On Awards Winners
Grey Bruce Partners in Health is pleased to announce the winners of the 14th annual The Beat Goes On Awards. The awards recognize individuals, groups, workplaces, schools and municipalities that are making changes to improve their own health, or the health of their employees or residents.
We were pleased to receive 29 nominations for the awards this year, with nominations coming from across Grey Bruce. All the nominees are commended on the excellent work they have done to create healthy environments both for themselves and the people around them. The winners are excellent examples of heart-healthy living and model how the environment can support healthy living.
Winners are: ■ Workplace under 50 employees – Municipality of Kincardine Administration Office, Kincardine ■ Workplace 50- 200 employees – Red Cross Community Health Services, Owen Sound ■ Workplace more than 200 employees – Transcontinental RBW Graphics, Owen Sound ■ Individual – Jan Giesler, Walkerton ■ Community Group – Lifestyle Group (Marianne Williams, Chris Piekney, Lorna Grant, and Terri Hope), Owen Sound ■ Elementary School – Northport Elementary School, Port Elgin ■ Secondary School – Chesley District High School, Chesley ■ Municipality – Municipality of Kincardine
Presentation of the awards will be made to the winners at the County of Bruce office in Walkerton and at the M’Wikwedong Native Cultural Resource Centre in Owen Sound; dates and times to be announced.
