COVID-19 Vaccinations

Vaccination will support a safe school environment and community. With the circulating variants in Grey Bruce, we need to aim for high coverage amongst youth aged 5-17 and the rest of the school community. Vaccines are safe, effective and the best way to stay protected and stop the spread of COVID-19.

As of January 10th, 2022, 47% of children aged 5-11 in Ontario have received a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 82.5% of youth aged 12-17 are fully vaccinated with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Grey Bruce Health Unit will work closely with the local school boards to ensure increased uptake of vaccination, especially for children aged 5-11. The health unit will work with local school boards to plan school-focused vaccine clinics which may operate before, during, or afters school hours either in schools or in other sites.
