Student Opportunities

Practicum Information

The Grey Bruce Health Unit is supportive of students who are looking to broaden their experience with a Public Health practicum.  Our intention is to expose students to Public Health as a career option.  The Grey Bruce Health Unit recognizes the importance of continuous learning and professional development for staff and students alike.  Students are partnered with a preceptor, who will promote learning, provide guidance, and foster a supportive learning environment for the duration of the placement.

Historically, we have accommodated those looking for a practicum placement in Nursing, Public Health Inspection, Dietetic, or Rural Health Sciences.  However, we are willing to consider applications from all other disciplines as well.  Students must be registered with a secondary or post-secondary academic institution.  A Police Record Check will be requested for program placements.

There are also seasonal employment opportunities available for students.  Seasonal job postings will be listed on our Employment Opportunities page as they become available.
