Personal service settings (PSS) are facilities that provide tattooing, body piercing/modification, and aesthetic services that may include hairdressing and barbering, electrolysis, waxing and hair removal, manicure/pedicure, micropigmentation, microblading, microdermabrasion, facials, and eyelash extensions/tinting.
Public Health Units in Ontario are required to inspect personal service settings to ensure that they comply with requirements made under the Personal Service Settings Regulation (O. Reg 136/18) to protect the health and safety of clients seeking these services. Inspection results are publicly available at Grey Bruce Web Live - home (healthspace.com)
Anyone who intends to operate a Personal Service Setting is required to notify Public Health as per Ontario Regulation 136/18. Every owner/operator of a PSS must provide notice to the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) of the Health Unit at least 14 days before:
