Eating Well

Eating well is about more than what’s on your plate. It’s shaped by where we live, learn, work, and play - our environment influences what food is available, how we eat, and the choices we can make.
Grey Bruce Public Health supports healthy eating through partnerships, programs, and policies that make nutritious, affordable, and culturally appropriate food more accessible across our communities.

We focus on:

  • Creating healthy, inclusive food environments
  • Supporting food literacy and nutrition education
  • Promoting sustainable food systems that support community well-being
  • Providing resources and guidance to help make healthy choices easier for everyone

Eating well can mean:

  • Choosing foods that reflect your culture, preferences, and budget
  • Sharing meals and preparing food with others
  • Eating a variety of foods, including more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and plant-based proteins
  • Listening to your body’s hunger and fullness cues
  • Advocating for food environments that support health and dignity for all
