Effective Monday, March 1, 2021, at 12:01 a.m., the Grey Bruce Health Unit moves to the Green Prevent Level of the Ontario COVID-19 Response Framework.

COVID-19 Vaccine Update: We are currently not booking vaccinations. Please avoid calling in an attempt to schedule vaccinations at this time. For week of March 1, vaccinations will focus on 2nd dose for all LTCH residents; First Responders (Police and Fire); Community Health Care Workers in Highest/Very High Categories; Community Needle Exchange Partners; and over 80 clients. For clients 80 years of age and older - primary care should be reaching out to them directly; and, for those in this group who do not have a primary care provider (or have a primary care provider outside of the Grey/Bruce region, a 1800 # will soon be available to book appointments.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit has cancelled all clinical services until further notice. This includes all dental services provided in our Owen Sound, Markdale, Walkerton, and Wiarton sites.

This action is being taken as part of an escalating response to safeguard the health of our communities in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Clients will be contacted and rescheduled when clinics are able to re-open.

Current Ontario Senior Dental Care Program (OSDCP) Clients

To support impacted clients, all currently enrolled OSDCP clients with an expiry date of July 31, 2020, will be automatically renewed for the next benefit year (2020-2021). A card will be mailed to you.

 

Healthy Smiles Ontario Extension

Effective immediately, the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) is automatically renewing eligibility for all children/youth who were enrolled in Healthy Smiles Ontario (HSO) to continue enrollment for the next benefit year (August 1, 2020 – July 31, 2021).  Eligible clients will be mailed a new dental card, expiring July 31, 2021.

Essential and Emergency Services Stream (EESS) clients whose card has expired between March 19 and July 31, 2020 and who had appointments booked but, were not able to attend due to COVID-19 will be able to re-book these appointments until completion of the required dental services.

HSO clients who have turned 18 between March 19, 2020-July 31, 2020 and who had appointments booked but not able to attend due to COVID-19 will also be able to re-book these appointments until completion of the required dental services.
