Recruitment Process

Application Screening and Applicant Selection

We thank all applicants for their interest in the Grey Bruce Health Unit! 

Once a posting has closed, applications will be screened by the Human Resources Department for selection based on pre-determined criteria outlined in the Job Description.  

Once the applications have been screened, the chosen applicants will be notified about the date, time and place of the interview appointment by the Human Resources Department.  


Interview Process

A hiring team will meet with the applicant.  The hiring team typically consists of 2-4 individuals, including the Hiring Manager(s), Director (as applicable) and HR personnel. The hiring team will use an interview questionnaire and the applicant will be graded on their answers by each interviewer.  Applicants will be required to complete an Application Form  PDF Document.

Where applicable, candidates may be required to complete a standardized computer test.

Reference Checks

Applicants invited for an interview will be asked to supply three (3) professional references.  Personal references will not be contacted.  The Human Resources Department will obtain consent from the candidate(s) prior to conducting reference checks.


Employment Notification

Only applicants who received an interview will be notified of the outcome.  The successful candidate(s) will then receive a written offer of employment.
