Agenda2022 Healthy Communities Conference Agenda

Conference Objectives

During the Conference, participants will focus on and discuss:

  • What sustainable communities mean to us
  • The community as a dynamic system
  • What your organization can contribute
  • How do we move forward?

Keynote Speakers - Leith Deacon is an Associate Professor in Rural Planning and Development in the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development. He is a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and a Registered Professional Planner (RPP). Leith’s research examines concepts around sustainability, governance, and resiliency. Leith is attempting to gain a better understanding of the dynamics associated with municipal rural and remote economies, specifically resource-based economies across Canada – what are their experiences and why are some communities able to grow and prosper while others experience decline.

The conference planning committee recognizes that accessibility, dietary and other accommodation needs are important to the inclusion of all participants.

The Bayshore Community Centre is an accessible and inclusive environment with accessible parking. For easiest access to the event venue, please use the parking lot and entrance at the back of the building.
