Grey Bruce Public Health is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident that occurred Friday, July 25, 2025, in Saugeen Shores.
Around noon, an individual was bitten while trying to separate two dogs engaged in a fight near the Saugeen Shores municipal office on Wellington Street.
The dog that bit the individual is described as a medium-sized, mixed-colour dog. Both dogs involved in the fight were accompanied by individuals who witnesses believed were the owners of the dogs.
Staff at Grey Bruce Public Health need to confirm the dog involved in this biting incident is not infectious with rabies.
By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
