Grey Bruce Public Health is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the owners of a dog that was involved in a biting incident on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in Meaford.
Between 7:30 – 8:00 pm, a man was bitten by a white dog, resembling a Terrier, with black ears and black markings around the eyes. The incident happened along the walkway on Bayfield Street in Meaford.
The dog’s owner is described as a middle-aged woman, with brown shoulder length hair and of average height. She had just taken a couple of pictures of the dog, while it was sitting on a big rock.
Grey Bruce Public Health needs to confirm the dog is not infectious with the rabies virus. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
