Grey Bruce Public Health is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident that occurred in Hanover.
On Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at approximately 12:30pm, a woman was bitten by a dog described as a white/grey shih tzu. The dog was being walked by a lady with black hair. The victim bent down to pick up her young daughter when the dog bit her hand.
Staff at Grey Bruce Public Health need to confirm the dog involved in this biting incident is not infectious with rabies.
By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
