Grey Bruce Public Health is seeking the public’s help in identifying the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident that occurred on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in the City of Owen Sound.
At about 7:20 p.m., a large dog, described as brown and white with short hair and floppy ears, bit a man in the commercial plaza at 1815 17th St. E. – near Owen Sound’s eastern edge. The dog was with a man at the time of the incident.
Staff at Grey Bruce Public Health need to confirm the dog involved in this biting incident is not infectious with rabies.
By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
