GBPH seeking public’s assistance as part of dog bite investigation – Grey Highlands

Grey Bruce Public Health is requesting the public’s help in identifying the owner of a dog involved in a dog-bite incident that took place on Thursday, July 9, 2026, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

At about 11 a.m., a woman was bitten by a dog while walking on the 4th Concession B, near Grey Road 2 and south of Maxwell. The dog is described as a medium-sized, black-and-white mixed breed dog.

Staff at Grey Bruce Public Health needs to confirm the dog involved in this biting incident is not infectious with rabies. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
