There is a Provincial Order in place, effective October 9th, 2020, mandating the use of face coverings in all public indoor settings across the province, such as businesses, facilities and workplaces, with limited exemptions.  For details, visit the Face Masks and Face Coverings in Ontario. Thornbury Beach - Little River Park Beach

Results from re-sampling that took place on August 31 are now in. They show that the water quality at Little River Beach falls within acceptable levels of bacteria. The posting of the beach is being lifted. Swimmers are reminded that swimming is discouraged after heavy rainfall or when water is cloudy following significant wave action, such as during and after a storm or heavy winds.

Little River Park Beach - Thornbury

Beach water sampling has identified higher levels of bacterial contamination at Little River Park in Thornbury. These results are consistent with the high wave action and significant rainfall over the last few days. The levels are in excess of Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards. The Grey Bruce Health Unit advises bathers that high levels of bacteria in recreational water may pose a risk to their health. Bathers are reminded to avoid swimming after heavy rain or in cloudy water.
