Effective Monday, March 1, 2021, at 12:01 a.m., the Grey Bruce Health Unit moves to the Green Prevent Level of the Ontario COVID-19 Response Framework.

COVID-19 Vaccine Update: We are currently not booking vaccinations. Please avoid calling in an attempt to schedule vaccinations at this time. For week of March 1, vaccinations will focus on 2nd dose for all LTCH residents; First Responders (Police and Fire); Community Health Care Workers in Highest/Very High Categories; Community Needle Exchange Partners; and over 80 clients. For clients 80 years of age and older - primary care should be reaching out to them directly; and, for those in this group who do not have a primary care provider (or have a primary care provider outside of the Grey/Bruce region, a 1800 # will soon be available to book appointments.

Public Assistance Request Dog Bite

The Grey Bruce Health Unit is seeking assistance from the public in finding the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident that occurred in Owen Sound on Monday, October 15, 2018 in the early evening, around dusk. The dog is described as medium-build, dark brown and was on a leash.

With winter on its way, another flu season is just around the corner. The flu shot is the best way to protect yourself and your family from getting the flu. For the more vulnerable, the flu vaccine is especially important. Public Health will be offering a free walk-in flu immunization clinic on Wednesday, October 24 from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Grey Bruce Health Unit, 101 17th Street East, Owen Sound.

The dog was described as an Australian cattle dog, blue and greyish in colour.

Successful Campaign “Attacks” Medication Misuse

One hundred fifty people took advantage of the offer of free Attack tickets in exchange for the return of expired or unused medication. Now in its second year, the Campaign to “Attack” Medication Misuse offered participants a free voucher to an Owen Sound Attack hockey game in exchange for the return of unused medication dropped off at the Rexall Pharma Plus in downtown Owen Sound between September 24 and 30.
